From the moment the home was designed, the homeowners had a clear vision for what the lower level would one day become: a space full of personality, purpose, and playful “must-haves.” At the heart of this vision was a custom home brewery — created for the husband’s passion for brewing — and a welcoming bar designed for sharing and enjoying those creations. A temperature-controlled wine room was also essential, offering a curated space to store bottles collected from travels around the world.
Equally important was the incorporation of deeply personal materials. Reclaimed 100-year-old brick and wood from a family farm were intentionally integrated to ground the space in family history and add warmth and authenticity.
This expansive basement also features a guest suite with a full bathroom, a hidden playroom concealed behind a sliding bookshelf, and a generous game and movie viewing area. True to the spirit of surprise and delight, the projection screen is cleverly tucked into the ceiling, ready to appear when the time is right. This space invites you in with its character and craftsmanship — come for the beer, stay for the stories hidden in every detail.
